About the event

Everyone carries stories of strength, struggle, growth, and self-discovery. Sometimes those experiences help us build ourselves up — other times, they can leave us feeling scattered. Join powerful Black women ages 24–35 for a FREE, fun and inspiring Girls Night Out: H.O.E. (Happiness Over Everything) Edition event on November 14th. Enjoy Thanksgiving-inspired food and refreshments, games, laughter, mentorship, and real, meaningful conversations about empowerment, relationships, sexuality, and personal strength. Together, we’ll explore what it means to own your story and your power through open, supportive dialogue — all while enjoying a private screening of the multi-award-winning film Precious, based on the novel Push by Sapphire. Mental and physical health resource information will be shared. For those interested, FREE, fast, confidential HIV testing will also be available onsite. Additional support for this event has been provided by the Alabama Department of Public Health and other community partners.
